Managing Director - Aintree Group

Shane is a Chartered Accountant with 30 years’ experience working as a trusted advisor to business owners and professionals. He and his wife Andrea started Aintree Group in 2005 with a vision to create an accounting and advisory business that could provide genuine long-term support. He specialises in Tax Planning, Business and Management Consulting, Managerial Finance, Strategic Business Planning, and being there to talk clients through all their big life decisions. Shane’s knowledge of tax matters is the best in the business. He has a way of seeing opportunities that others can’t, from simple savings through to sophisticated tax planning strategies. He seeks to educate business owners so they can become financially savvy themselves and empower them to achieve security and success in all areas of their lives. Shane is passionate about sharing his expertise to benefit the wider community. He is an active member of many advisory boards and local committees and speaks on topical issues at seminars and training events regularly. He is family oriented and encourages finding a balance between home and work life.
Ashley Wignell

Ashley is a multi-skilled Chartered Accountant with over 22 years’ experience. He joined the Aintree Group team in 2016 after many years of looking after high net worth individuals and privately owned businesses.

He predominantly works with family businesses, providing accessible tax, accounting and superannuation advice that is always in the client’s best interest. He believes in a proactive, honest, and hands-on approach to accounting.

His invaluable knowledge and experience covers a broad range of industry specialisation including manufacturing, insurance, property development, construction, and professional services such as doctors, lawyers, and engineers.

When not at work, Ashley enjoys the constant chaos and adventure that comes with having an active family life with his beautiful wife and three kids. He is also an avid Carlton supporter and hopes for success in the 2022 season.

Nadia Fazli

Nadia is a proactive Chartered Accountant with over 10 years’ experience. She joined Aintree Group as a Manager in February 2020 after spending a year working and travelling in London, and became a Director in 2023.

Nadia specialises in supporting family-owned businesses with their specific individual needs, both business and personal. She is passionate about her clients and thrives on actively supporting her clients through their journey.

Outside of work, Nadia enjoys staying fit, spending time with her dogs and travelling.

Graham Haydar

Accounting Principal

Graham is a Chartered Accountant with over 37 years of audit, taxation and business advisory experience. His clients respect him as their personal “go-to” trusted advisor and assists them in finding solutions to their business problems and achieving their goals.

Graham has vast experience in all facets of business, offering effective taxation strategies, financial management and wealth creation, and superannuation advisory services. He provides practical, honest, and transparent solutions to a range of everyday business issues and provides strategic CEO advice to large family office clients.

Graham is passionate about helping the community and he regularly volunteers his time with many Not-for-Profit organisations like Fareshare Australia and the Royal Children’s Hospital. He also holds several board positions within his client groups such as Big Group Hug.

Outside of work, Graham enjoys finding a work-life balance through travelling, family holidays, driving fast cars, cycling and exercising regularly.

Paul Martin

Accounting Principal

Paul has over 36 years of taxation and business advisory experience, including running his own practice for 28 years. He’s worked in a broad range of industry sectors specialising in construction, civil engineering, property development, manufacturing, biotechnology and retailing.

Paul predominantly working closely with family businesses specialising in tax planning, business consulting and strategic advice, often acting in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer for many of our clients.

He strongly believes in both developing close relationships with clients to gain a better understanding of their goals, both personal and business, and also in keeping close ties to the community – often by taking on the role as treasurer of local sporting clubs and charities. 

Outside of work, Paul enjoys travelling and cooking for his wonderful wife, two daughters and their partners. He loves nothing more than relaxing with a glass of red and a good “whodunnit” novel, preferably with an ocean view!

Trung Le

Senior Manager

Trung is a Chartered Accountant with experience working in both the public and private sector in Australia. He also has international experience working and living in London and the Cayman Islands.

At Aintree Group, Trung’s experience covers a variety of industry sectors including manufacturing, retail, professional services, construction, and property development.

Outside of work, Trung enjoys playing a round of golf and hitting winners on the tennis court. One interesting item on his bucket list is he would like create a meme that goes viral!

Joseph is a Chartered Accountant with over six years experience working closely with Aintree Group clients. He loves working with numbers and is passionate about building strong client relationships and providing tax strategies for small businesses and individuals.

In his spare time he enjoys travelling, catching up with friends and family, watching tennis (especially when Nadal is playing), supporting his favourite AFL and Soccer teams – Hawthorn and Chelsea FC, and staying active by playing football and going to the gym.

Daniel is a Chartered Accountant and has been at Aintree Group for over 7 years. He is passionate about seeing businesses flourish and succeed, whilst assisting clients in any way possible. He is personable and easy-going, and helps organise team social events to keep everyone connected.He likes to maintain a well-balanced lifestyle. This includes playing tennis and video games, exercising, following sports (Carlton FC, Chelsea FC, the Utah Jazz, etc), seeing various friends and relatives, and most importantly, spending his money on good food.Daniel is also currently serving as the Treasurer of the Camberwell Trader’s Association.

Ritika is a Chartered Accountant with over 6 years experience in the tax and accounting industry, including previously working at KPMG. She loves building relationships when working with her clients, which is an integral part of her approach as Assistant Manager.

In her spare time, Ritika enjoys visiting art museums and tries to visit one in every city she travels to. She’s also always up for a good tiramisu!

David joined our team in 2022. His role includes preparing financial statements and tax returns for Self Managed Super Funds and ensuring they are compliant.

In his spare time he enjoys socialising with friends, playing tennis and spending time with his pet greyhound.

Amy Phillips

Accounting Operations Manager

Amy joined Aintree Group in 2023. She oversees the day to day operations of our accounting business unit.

Amy brings 12 years’ experience across all facets of accounting operations to her role – from accounting and tax, audit, superannuation, corporate compliance and administration. Her passion is in organisation and efficiency. If there is a simpler way to do something Amy will make it happen. Constantly questioning the how and why ensures we are continually improving to deliver exceptional services for our clients.

She is driven by results and finds no better satisfaction than seeing a client’s need exceeded, a project completed, or a team member master a new skill.

After a week in the office, Amy loves to pack her daughter and her dog into the caravan and disappear into the wide outdoors.

Rose joined Aintree Group in 2023 with 10 years’ experience working in the accounting industry. She is one of the first points of contact for our business, and assists with client communication and bookings, compliance matters, enquiries and day to day operational tasks.

In her spare time Rose enjoys renovating projects and spending time with her sons. She’s also been known to jump out of a plane (with a parachute, of course!).

Nick Binney

Nick joined Aintree Group in 2021. He assists our team with accounting and tax matters, and is currently working towards his Chartered Accountant qualification.

In his spare time Nick enjoys watching the footy (particularly when Richmond is playing) and spending time with his dogs. He also loves travelling home to country Victoria to see his family and catching up with friends on the weekend.

Sam assists our team with accounting and tax matters. He joined Aintree Group in 2021. He is enthusiastic about solving clients’ tax and financial problems.

Sam also enjoys cooking traditional Chinese and Japanese food at home, watching cooking videos on YouTube, travelling and camping in small towns across Australia, and playing soccer with his friends.

Selina joined Aintree Group in 2021. She assists our team with accounting and tax matters and is currently working towards her Chartered Accountant qualifications.

Outside of the accounting industry, Selina’s previous work experience includes working for the Walt Disney Company in Florida, U.S.A where she worked in Guest Operations.

In her spare time, Selina enjoys musical theatre, crafting, travelling, and spending time with her two cats. She has expansive general knowledge, and put that to the test by competing on the TV quiz show The Chase Australia. One of her favourite memories is meeting her idol, Taylor Swift, and she keeps a photo of that moment on her desk in the office.

Leonard Lin

Leonard joined our team in 2023. He holds a Masters of Professional Accounting from UTAS, and has several years of experience in public practice. At a previous firm he specialised in caravan park operations and looked after high net worth overseas clients.

He enjoys looking at analytics while preparing clients’ annual financial and tax compliance, to see the business performance over the years.

Leonard has been a big fan of Manchester United for over 25 years, and is always watching soccer (if the games are not on at midnight). He lived in many different cities in China before coming to Melbourne at age of 16, which allows him to speak different local languages. Japan is the top of his list to travel to and hopes to visit there next Christmas.

Kate Jackson

Kate joined our team in January 2024. She has been in the accounting industry on and off for 30 years, spending the last 16 of those working alongside our Accounting Principal, Paul Martin. Kate particularly enjoys working with small businesses to help to make their day-to-day accounting operations run smoothly.

In her spare time Kate loves playing golf, gardening, going to footy and reading. She is not only part of a book club, but also a restaurant club where a group of longtime friends discover Melbourne’s best restaurants and bars together. She is a parent to three adult kids and one very cute boxer, Billy, and she loves taking family holidays to the beach with them all.

Krishan Weerakoon

Krishan joined our team in 2024. He has experience working with various accounting clients and is always eager to assist them with tax matters. One of his goals is to pursue a Chartered Accounting qualification in the near future.

In his free time Krishan enjoys going to the gym with friends, watching movies and playing cricket.

Dev Kasaju

Dev enjoys getting the best service and outcome for clients. He has a Masters of Financial Analysis, and is working towards his goal to become a Chartered Accountant.

On his days off, Dev enjoys going to the gym, playing indoor soccer and going fishing, as well as watching football. His favourite team is Manchester City.

Jessica joined our team as an Accounting Intern in 2022, and became a full time Accountant in 2024. She assists our clients with tax planning and compliance matters.

Jessica is currently studying Business at Monash University, with a focus on Accounting and Business Law. She enjoys catching up with friends and family, playing basketball or reading self-growth books!

Anna joined our team in 2023. She takes care of all our client’s bookkeeping needs including BAS preparation, payroll services and data entry.

In her spare time, Anna enjoys spending time with her family, reading and travelling.

Bridgette Sibanda

Bridgette Sibanda

Bookkeeper

Bridgette looks after our client’s bookkeeping needs, including BAS preparation and payroll services. She holds a BCOM in Accounting and Finance, is a certified BAS Agent, and has a been working in Business Advisory & Bookkeeping for 12 years.

Her industry experience prior to joining Aintree Group includes working in the Marketing industry (mainly charities and sports) and hospitality industry, as well as with some sole traders.  She primarily specialises in Financial Reporting, Cashflow Budgeting, Compliance Management & Reporting (Superannuation, PAYG, BAS), and Advisory.

Bridgette always tells her clients: “You do what you do best and I will do the same” and finds this helps them no longer get bogged down trying to figure out the financial side of their business themselves, which is not efficient for them. Instead, they can put their trust in her to manage and facilitate learning different aspects of the financials in running a business.

She is a foodie by nature, so in her spare time you’ll find her scouring the internet or social media for trendy cafes and restaurants. She has a bucket list of places to try, and is always happy to get people’s recommendations of fantastic places she should add to that list.

Bridgette also enjoys travelling a lot, with a goal to travel to all 195 countries in the world. She has a lot of knowledge in this area, so if you would like to plan a travel itinerary – Bridgette’s your gal! Another goal of hers is to learn at least 8 languages, and has made a very strong start with English, Spanish, French, Xhosa, Ndebele, Shona (local), and Korean currently in her repertoire (not quite fluent in all of them just yet).

Adelina Hidajat

Adelina takes care of bookkeeping and payroll services for our clients. She holds a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and a Diploma of Accounting, equipping her with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex world of finance.

Adelina is an Indonesia native who has called Australia home for the past 7 years. For the past 18 months, she served as an Account Manager for a prominent accounting firm specialising in real estate. It was a period of continuous learning and adapting to the ever-evolving market dynamics. Looking ahead, she is excited to continue pushing boundaries in the field of accounting. She aspires to contribute meaningfully to the financial well-being of individuals and businesses alike, leveraging her diverse background and extensive knowledge.

When she’s not at work, you’ll usually catch Adelina trying out different restaurants every weekend. She loves exploring all sorts of foods and finding new flavours in our city. She also likes taking relaxed walks around the city, exploring all its interesting streets. It’s like going on a fun adventure to discover cool places and yummy eats!

Jodi joined our Bookkeeping Team in 2024.  She supports our accounting and bookkeeping operations, and ensures our bookkeeping processes are top-notch. Jodi has worked in accounting for almost 30 years, and spent the last decade in accounting firms.

Thuong assists with our client’s bookkeeping needs, including BAS preparation, payroll services and data entry. She holds a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, and has over 10 years experience in the accounting industry, working previously as an Accountant in Finland and as a Bookkeeper and Payroll Officer here in Australia.

Having worked with clients across various industries including small to medium sized businesses, family businesses, investors and professionals, Thuong seeks to use that experience to help business owners find the best way to manage their financials and books.

Outside of work, she keeps herself fit by jogging, hiking and doing Pilates. On weekends she likes to try new restaurants – strolling around the city and suburbs looking for hidden gems.

Thuong’s background is Vietnamese, but she grew up in Finland and is very used the cold weather. She can’t wait for winter in Australia so she can hit the slopes snowboarding, which is her biggest passion. Her goal is to travel overseas at least once a year (usually to a winter destination to get more opportunities to snowboard).

Lorena Thomas

Lorena has over 22 years experience in the Bookkeeping industry. She is a registered BAS agent, and has a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.

She celebrated her 10th year at Aintree Group in 2019. She works part-time taking care of internal bookkeeping matters for Aintree Group.

In her spare time, Lorena enjoys travelling and reading.

Chantelle takes care of compliance matters relating to the ATO, ASIC and other regulatory bodies. She is the keeper of our databases and our Director ID Number guru. She loves listening to the ATO’s and ASIC’s wait music whilst she works.

Chantelle enjoys going to the gym, dancing and, spending time with her family and friends. In her spare time she is learning how to speak, read and write Korean.

Sue Giblin

Sue has over 30 years experience working for various accounting practices, mainly working in the Corporate Secretarial field. She’s always happy to help clients with any matter to achieve a positive result every time, and has built strong friendships with clients in the past.

Sue has two adult daughters and looks forward to becoming a grandmother one day. She has the travel bug and wants to travel to some interesting places one day.

With previous experience working as a Client Services Representative, Ally looks forward to growing in her new role as Executive Assistant.

Ruth has a background in customer service and administration across multiple industries. She is one of the first points of contact for our business and assists Graham Haydar with communication and client meetings.

Outside of the office you will find Ruth etching and printing limited edition prints, playing strategy boardgames with friends or hiking and seeking out wombats.

Sienna joined Aintree Group in 2023. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts, Majoring in Politics and International Studies, at Melbourne University.

When she’s not working or studying, Sienna’s favourite pastime is reading. She also loves walking her dog, Peppa, hanging out with friends, and listening to heavy metal music.

Laura joined Aintree Group in 2023. She has previous experience working in administration at accounting firms, and assists our team with client communication and enquiries, compliance administration and day to day operational tasks. She is also currently studying Science at Deakin University.

Elektra assists our accounting team with administration and client compliance matters. She also works part-time as a Legal Assistant for Aintree Group Legal.

She holds a Bachelor of History and Business Law from the University of Western Australia and is currently studying the Juris Doctor at Monash Law School. Elektra has previously worked as a paralegal/legal administrative assistant at the Fremantle Community Legal Center, and has work experience under Francis Zemljak (CHC). She also provided a written submission for the proposed Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill for NSW Parliament presented by Alex Greenwich.

In her spare time, Elektra enjoys travelling, reading and cooking.

Sophie Jackson

Operations Coordinator

She/Her

Sophie works part time assisting with daily operations and administration for our accounting team, including making sure our processes are streamlined and everything in the office runs efficiently.

She is currently studying a Bachelor of Business majoring in Banking and Finance at Monash and is on track to complete her degree in mid-2025. Sophie isn’t sure which area of Banking and Finance she’d like to work in yet, and is exploring the different options.

In her spare time, Sophie loves catching up with friends and family, going for runs, taking her dog Billy for walks, and going to the footy. Her favourite hobby is trying out all of the different restaurants and wine bars in Melbourne. Her favourite place to travel is somewhere warm and by the beach.

Emilie joined our team in 2023. She assists our Compliance Team with ASIC matters and administration tasks part-time while studying at The Australian National University. She’s currently completing a double degree, working towards a Bachelor of Science and Arts.

Outside of work and study, Emilie enjoys spending time outdoors with hobbies like wildlife photography, kayaking and scuba diving.

Isabel Nichols

Isabel works part time at Aintree Group assisting with a variety of projects across several different teams and business units. She’s currently studying a Bachelor of Law (Honours) at Monash University, with particular interest in exploring commercial and property law. 

Outside of work, Isabel stays active by going for walks and practicing Pilates. She also enjoys travelling, especially to Europe!
