Does Aintree Group complete individual income tax returns for wage and salary earners?

Our accounting specialty is tax planning, compliance, and strategic advice for clients with complex corporate structures like businesses, trusts, and self-managed super funds. While we do complete tax returns for the individuals and family members involved in those corporate structures, but we don’t typically manage accounting work for clients who require only an individual tax return each year.

However, while our accounting services may not suit your needs, that doesn’t mean we can’t help at all. We also offer legal, wealth and business advisory services – and you don’t need to be an accounting client to get assistance in these areas.

How do I know if I need a business accountant?

Anyone can file a tax return, but if you own a business and/or have complex corporate structures involved, it’s crucial to have an accountant that specialises in that area.

There are many different reasons you might seek out an experienced business accountant like Aintree Group, including (but definitely not limited to):

Does Aintree Group specialise in accounting for a particular industry?

Our specialisation lies in tax planning for complex corporate structures like businesses, trusts and self-managed super funds.

We believe having experience across a wide range of different industries gives us the ability to see opportunities and risks beyond the “norm” for a particular type of business. We focus on each organisation as their own complete entity with their own unique structure, goals, challenges and people, rather than providing advice based on industry alone.

I have a quick tax question, can Aintree Group answer it if I’m not a client?

We cannot give individual advice without knowing about your full circumstances, so we’re unable to respond to one-off questions.

We do have a lot of free resources available on our Insights page which we recommend checking out, and all our client seminars are open for anyone to attend – not just clients. However, this is all general advice only, and you must seek individual advice before acting.

If I get my accounting done at Aintree Group, does that mean I must use all your other services?

Definitely not! While we do offer integrated professional services across accounting, legal, wealth and business, you can pick and choose what services suit you and your needs best.

If you are looking for a brilliant business accountant, but you’ve got all your legal and financial planning needs taken care of already – we are happy to work with your existing professional advisors to make sure you get the best financial outcomes.

What services does Aintree Group Chartered Accountants provide?

Aintree Group is an integrated professional services firm, which means we have business units specialising in different areas: accounting, law, wealth, and finance.

Our Accounting business unit offers a range of accounting and tax services including tax planning, financial reporting, corporate restructuring, bookkeeping and payroll, BAS lodgement, self-managed super fund management, trust, cash flow management.

Do you take clients who are based outside of Melbourne?

We sure do! We have clients based all across Australia, and internationally as well!

We can easily facilitate meetings virtually via phone call, Teams or Zoom, and we’re a paperless office, so all documents are managed through secure online channels anyway.

How long do I need to keep my business records for?

Business owners have record-keeping obligations that they need to abide by. You will need to keep all records related to starting, running, changing, and selling or closing your business that are relevant to your tax and super affairs.

These records include receipts and Business Activity Statements and need to be kept for at least 5 years (depending on the purpose of the record). Read more about that here.

Chartered Accountants are highly qualified and experienced accountants who have completed additional qualifications on top of their University degree(s), and continue to adhere to strict training and membership guidelines laid out by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
